I need to paint my intake manifold and some cooling tins. I'm blasting the parts to bare metal. Is there any spray can that holds up really good? Even with the occasional high pressure engine wash?

Also, what was the color of the '70 single port intake manifold? Flat grey? Dull Aluminum?

All of my other engine parts were powder coated 2 years ago. I'd prefer not to take these parts to the powder coater because of the small quantity and it takes a really long time to get them back.

Has anyone done their own powder coating with a something like this?

POR-15 makes high temp paints that stick almost as well as powder coating and withstand high temps also. They also had colors that were very close to factory for my type3.
