| anyone know what length morse cable works for a baja? I know its kind of a stupid hard to answer question. I'd like to get one ordered, and am not by my car. |

well....
got the engine running. Had a few issues, but I got it to do more than sputter now. Bad news, the turbo is just dumping oil into the intake. Its a draw through setup, and I'm not using carbon seals. I assume thats part of the problem. Turbo has a little shaft play, but not enough for how much oil its dumping. BOOOO!
So, now I gotta figure out what to do. Dont have the money to spend on more turbo parts, so I might put that on the back burner for now, and just run a stock 1bbl carb on it. Only thing is, I have a carb, but no intake center section. Also hacked up my baja header to make it turbo, but that is easy enough to fix. I just have to find a center section.

Lookin good Trey ! Are you gonna put the wing back on it ? If not I'll trade you a manifold center section and a Baja exhaust ,or buy it if the price is right. I always thought a wing like that would be good for keeping the rain and mud off the engine in my Baja.And it might make a good place to mount an oil cooler.
I really don't care what it will look like, my Baja is for huntin', fishin' and chunkin' mud (and looks like a soft turd that fell from a tall cows ass !) :lol: Chrome may not get you home, but paint it flat black and green and you can't be seen !!! |

I found out with my discovery of eBay and the Samba classifieds that no mater what it is,someone,somewhere wants or needs it. I guess I'll go ahead with my plans to build a wing. If you need that manifold, I'll take $10 + shipping.

Wahoo!
Got almost all of the wiring completed today. Just need to figure out how to wire the alternator with external regulator. Everything else is wired.
Then I'll wait for carb jets to get here, and rebuild/rejet it. If all goes well, I'll have it drivable in about two weeks! It only took me three years. |
