| When installing a crome firewall with the 3 sides to the engine compartment, is it necesary to remove the engine to install it or can you slide it in behind it? |

You might be able to squeeze it in if you; remove the deck lid and hinges, accel cable, and some of the wiring to the generator(disconnect the battery), and remove the fan housing. It might bend the firewall so be careful. It would definately be easier with the engine out. You might get creases in the firewall if you bend it too far.
If it were me, I would drop the engine down to the floor on a floor jack, install the firewall, then jack the engine back into place. Sounds real easy sittin here at my computer! 8)
