I'm in the process of insulating my bus. Someone suggested use foam blocks in between the metal and insulation sheets both sprayed with 3M Hi-Strength 90 Spray Adhesive. So, I grabbed some styrofoam used as packing material and practiced spraying a small piece, only to find the 3M spray ATE IT UP! There was nothing left of it!
Can anyone suggest the proper foam to use with this adhesive and where to buy it? Thanks for your help! |

I think the spray foam.. "GREAT STUFF" It would work for your needs after its dry.. "Great stuff" is available at Home Depot in the insulation area.. I used it in the rear of my car around the luggage rack.. WORKED GREAT!! I really don't think it would melt like the styrofoam.

| I've seen sheet foam insulation, it has foil facing and will stand up to the spray adhesive. It's ideal for campers and trailers because of the lightweight and ease of use, plus a decent R factor. The spray foam is great when applied right, it gets in all the hard to get at areas like contours and corners, and it bonds to surface well. |

| I used "great stuff" for sound insulation in my car... worked wonders. It should be great for what you want to do considering. one thought-- they make the foam triple expanding and non- expanding... be mindful of which you're using, and wear rubber gloves. it's a pain to clean off. |

Never used it for cars, but I used it in my garage when I installed a pull down attic ladder to seal the frame and ceiling. Expands very well. I do remember a friend of mine using it where the wiring harness ran from the engine back into the car on his baja. Here's some info on it. Most any hardware or home store should have it.
