| i sprayed some primer today from my harbor freight gun for the first time and i was wondering why in some areas of my car the primer came out with rough texture but in some areas it is smooth.it looks like stucco in some areas what can cause this to happen? |

| if you did it outside debris could have drifted on to the car from the air... |

First of all this sounds like some sort of laquer paint. If you plan too keep your car stay away from this type of primer. You want to use a primer that takes a hardener.
You can also have rough texture due to improper mixture, dirty gun, pluged air inlet to paint hold, spray technique, insuficent air supply. When you were spraying and you got the rough texture what was happening, you would have seen it happen. |

| When we paint, especially outside, we keep the ground all wet so dirt/dust doesn't get kicked up and onto the paint. |

| Another problem could be that your primer was drying in the gun. Keep mixing it in the gun between panels. Did you use a Filter when adding the primer into the gun? If it was high build primer than it tends to dry fast. |

Sounds like you lifted some lacquer or unhardened Acrylic enamel. Wait for it to harden well, maybe a day-which by now should be fine!!- and sand it and reprime... Just knock the ridges down possibly by hand or with a DA and 180-320 grit first... I bet you've done all this by now!
Hey Kos- Did you earlier ask if I had gone to tech school? |
