You won't be able to strip cars but smaller blaster are available that run off of even the smallest of compressors. Are you thinking "Blast Cabinet??" or just your run-of-the-mill outdoor unit? I got a cheap-o from Sears for about $35 and it blast little parts and etches glass very well. Unfortunatley it builds up a lot of water in the tank because blasters draw A LOT OF AIR!! I have toned down the amount of blasting I do because of the wear and tear it puts on the machine... What are you planning on blasting most often?
Good luck in your search! |

I need to get my seat frames sand blasted, anyone know how much a sand blast hop would charge on the average for front and back seat? possibly just front seats because none of the frame is exposed on the back seat.
thanks |

| I'll be blasting my wheels and engine tin. Last night i figure it out . i looked in an Eastwood Catolog of Tools and found that i can by a gun that hooks up to the compresser and has another end that goes into a bucket of sand. so its called "blasting out of the bucket" |

| The wheels ought to take you about two hours, the tin another two with one of those bucket style blasters, depending on how often it gets clogged up and how tough your air supply is. I've done it numerous times but I quit wasting my time and started spending the cash 'cuz the shops get ALL of the crap off the rusty-crusty parts. I pay $12 per wheel. I just had an entire front bumper for an early bus done, an entire set of DP engine tin done, 6 early camper bus windows done and full headlight assemblies for early bus/bug done by the same shop for $150. VERY NICE STUFF! I still use the bucket blaster for etching glass and blasting miscellaneous small pieces-- they're great for that!! The seats shouldn't be much trouble to do yourself, I'm about to do that too! |
