I'm sure this has happened to a lot of you. When taking your fenders off or maybe even tightening them the spot in the body where the bolt screws into breaks out. I have at least 4 holes in my body now where a fender bolt should bolt in. How do I repair this? Thanks

get the threaded inserts mig welded back in...

or if the car is fresh painted and you cannot weld around it/bodywork then is possible to use something like JB weld to hold them in place, just be sure to let it cure for 24 hours.

Or if that is not your style ( don't know hwt year/type car... driver seems ok to do it to... resto/showpiece probably not)then they have to be welded in.

It's not going to be a show bug, but I think I would like to have the threaded inserts welded back in. Where would I get those inserts? Thanks for the help.
It's a 60' bug if that makes a difference.

Yeah if your still in the project phase then definatly weld them in. JB was only if you did not want to chance screwing up recent/ new / good paint.

Thanks Espy, I was assuming he still had the ones that came out...

I finally got smart and used a slide hammer with an old bolt in it to yank them out of junkers before they hit the scrappy :)
