Hello,
A friend of mine is having problems with the factory alarm in his 98 Jetta. He wants to disable it or fix, when the car has been sitting for a few days, or sometimes hours, when the doors are unlocked, the horn starts blowing and the windows will go down and won't go back up. Disconnected the battery after this and then the windows would finally go up. If anyone has any ideas or has experienced a similiar problem please help.

I have had some problems here at the shop with the Fusible link located usually in the harness under the trim between the carpet and drivers door. Mostly happening on the Cabrio however.

do the interior litghts work when you open the drivers door? if not replace the drivers door lock
more than lickely the drivers door lock is seeing the door to be open and the central locking control module recieves that sgnal and BOOM sounds the alarm |
