Does any one know the VW part number for the brake pedal pad that is used in an automatic Bus? I am talking about the rectangular pad that fits onto the brake pedal. Thanks!

211-173 is what West Coast Metric shows. They call it a "Pedal Pad" and it comes in a pair (for clutch and brake). There is no indication that the bus being auto or manual makes a difference.

Thanks, I know that there is a difference. My pad is 2 7/8 inches wide and 1 5/8 inches tall. Not an easy one to find.

Did you ever find the pedal pad you were looking for?

I bought the one from the BusDepot link above and it does not fit well at all. I just got it in the mail today.

Wondering if you had the same problem.

Welp,
I realized I wasn't given the correct part. I checked the numbers and turns out the part number for a split Bus pedal is really close to a bay auto pedal. :? :roll:

Split:311 721 173A
Bay: 311 723 173A

we had a terrible time finding the right pads. All the usual suspects had ones made for the Brazilian buses. BugHaus.com had the exact German ones we wanted. You might look at this image and give Eric a call if it is the one you need.

Do you have any pics of your pedal with and without the pad?

The pad I received is identical to the pad listed as "X" in the link SGKent posted but it is very sloppy on my pedal, especially left to right.

The the size of the auto brake pedal change at some point in time?
