Is FUGLY. Any swap potential? Beautification tips? If I can't swap, maybe just remove the yucky padding and paint it. Anyone try it?

I saw an awesome job done by a Caddy owner who put a MkIII Golf dash in. It wasn't a straight swap although I don't remember what was involved ... but it sure looked nice.

Early German made dashes look a bit smarter than the American-made VWs IMO. -And they are much closer to a bolt-in.

Any Mk1 Rabbit/Golf/Jetta/Cabriolet will fit...anything else will need to be modified. I think I have seen Mk2 golf/Jetta dashres installed without too much hacking. Nash over on 'vortex stripped and painted his..looked good but the glare was crazy.
