alright i have an '85 cabriolet. now my fan for the heater/ac blower keeps blowing a fuse. now the 20amp fuse is alright.(the one actuallly for the blower) the one next to it on the right, was a 15amp that was blown. when i took out the fuse it looked to be a really old fuse that looked like an og fuse. i put a new 15amp fuse back in. it worked!! i turned on the car and went to work and truned off the car with the heater on. after work i go out to the car and it doesn't work again. it's blown again. i look in the manual and it said there should be a 10amp fuse there. i put in a 10amp. it works great! wel i go home, i turn off the car with the heater on. for s and g's i turn is back on to see if the fuse blows. well it does! now i'm getting pissed. i put a 15amp fuse back in and now i'll see what happens in the morning. it's my last fuse and i don't want to waste it, so i'll see what happens tomorrow. Now why would this be happing?? i need help and i'm getting really frustrated. what's the deal?

'85's weren't prone to electrical problems (their only recall was fuel pump related), but it sounds like you have one. The most likely culprits are a bad switch, a bad ground, two exposed wires touching each other, and the fuse box itself.

Another recall was the fuel tank replacement, but that is not on-topic...

I think it might be possible too that the fan is drawing too much amperage. The fan and/or the resistor pack need to be tested.
