Amphicar as I was told? I might run em, but was told steering shaft splines might need to be modified. Never tried to fit em on m6 56 rhd yet.

From what I understand it will just fit right on. No mods needed. I could be wrong cause Im just speeking from second hand information though. Sweet different wheel either way.

Yeah eventually will find out- this summer hopefully.
Last year at Kelly Park or BYOB, I saw Greg Banfill selling same steering wheel (with mounting boss for petri which I dont have) for a cool $1,500? Not sure if I recall correctly cuz it was during april 20th weekend 8)

Anyway if anyone has the mounting boss by itself (a piece that holds petri horn ring to the steering wheel) let me know! I have a machinst that could copy off it but need a template to start with, and if anyone wants some of those I could make a limited run of these- my machinst guy is SOLID!

I need one too for one of my late 50s rings. Koch told me that someone is repoping them and to give him a call. But Im the worst procrastinator and havent done so yet.

Excellent! I'll give him a call, check whats up with Ruben if he is still working there. Thanks for the heads up! So you have the same steering wheel or just a petri product? PICS?! ;-)

The horn button is just solid black now, and those two eyeballs in the dash are gone, replaced with matching wooden knobs finally.

Rareair,
Does this wheel fit on a 1957? Some one told me it didnt.
Thanx for your help,

Micky

I'm not aware of any Empi wheel that'll fit a Pre '59 VW steering column

Just change the column out to a later unit to run a EMPI wheel.
