Thumbs up to Jake over at Aircooled Technology. For months I have been trying to figure out what I was going to power my 61 Beetle with. I decided to go Type IV and contacted Jake. After countless Pm's back and forth I put my first order in for Bug Me Video: Type 4 Conversion, Bug Me Video Type 4 Engine Rebuild and Joe Cali Type 4 Conversion Manual. Since I have been doing the VW's thing I have ran into a number of shops and people who just don't know how to treat a customer. Everything from unanswered Pm's, no call backs, weeks to ship a part that was suppose to be in stock, bogus shipping dates, etc. Well I must say I have NEVER received any of this from the crew at Aircooled Technology. In fact I placed my order on Friday, March 2, 2007at 11:39:04 PM. I received an automated email letting me know the order was in there hands. I was told it would take about a week to ship and then to my surprise Wednesday I received an email with my tracking number. Customer service is before, during and after the sale. So far I'm very happy with the experience and recommend them to anyone.
I think there should be an area (section/category) called "Vendor and sellers feedback". This way people can post great and not so great things about Vendors/Sellers to help people know what they are getting into or not getting into. |

Sorry....."Buyer and Seller Feedback" is the best The Samba could come up with.

Thanks so much! All vendors are faced with a different set of tasks and challenges from day to day, you'd never guess from the experience that you have hasd so far just how goofed up the last few weeks have been here! We have been getting ready for Race season, just finished the new dyno lab and have been doing all sorts of over the top stuff thats just not normal!
I have tried very hard to keep our inventory as large as possible to turn orders around, but with most every part we sell needing some sort of machining, modification or quality control checks from me or my assistant, Brent personally it can slow things down on larger more demanding orders.
I run this place way differently than most VW shops/ parts sources and the difference shows with our loyal customers coming back time after time!
Thanks for the kind words and I hope to be able to serve you again in the future.. |

Thanks for the redirect and link.
With your work ethic, dedication and devotion you will go a long way. With so many less than par shops even the simplest thing will set you apart and make the customer feel great. Keep up the great work. |

Got my package today and spent a few hours watching the videos. Very informative and a must for anyone doing the Type IV conversion.
I watched the Bug Me Type IV Upright conversion and Type IV rebuild. |

| Be carefull watching those videos. There is some very important information that is not on those tapes that were "edited out due to time restraints". At least that was Jake told me. Due to the "edited out" parts of the video, i now have some parts that i can't use on my application. Needless to say, Jake will not stand behind his product. BUT, he will try to assit you over a phone call and YOU have to do the work to make his "advertised to work" part work. |

Fellas, i wanted to give you an update on my experience with Jake and Aircooled Technology...
First thing this morning i recieved a call from Jake. Kinda took me off gaurd as i was never expecting a call from him due to his busy schedual, and due to some harsh words from me here on the forums. I must say, the conversation went very well. He understood some of my views and i understood his views as well. He was VERY concerned in what i was doing with my motor as i am an newbie to the the type 4 world.
Long story short, he explained what happened to my first order and he very much wanted my first type 4 experience to be a good one, and thats why he was so pursistant in "pounding" his views into me. And after talking with him and picking his brain a little, now i can see why.
So i must appoligize if i came across harsh on Jake and his company. I look forward to purchasing his products in the future. :D

Craig,
Thanks for the clarification.. and the kind words..
It was nice chatting with you. I hope you end up appreciating the TIV platform as much as I did from the very beginning.
Good luck! |
