Hey, guys
I'm looking for some one local (in San Antonio) to help me out. A small intro:
I've always been a big fan of classic VW's, but never got into busses, suddenly after seeing one up close (a westfalia camper)I can get my mind off of them :D :D :D .

So here is where I need some help. I'm looking for a nice camper (I have my heart set on a Riviera or a post 74 westfalia) and any one who doesn't mind helping a newbie out. Any information on local shops or junk/ salvage yards for parts would help too.

Also, I keep hearing of some lot full of old VW's just sitting and rotting by the air port  . If any one could direct me to the lot or knows anything about it, I would love to see it for my self/ talk to the owner  .

Thanks, Andrew

I'm not sure I'd have my heart set on a Riviera.

The side slider windows I've yet to see successfully rebuilt, the design of the fold out bed is just flawed, the tire mount on the front will have left a dent there.

Good points - I have nifty little hooks rivited around the outside for tying things to the top (which I've never used since there's no rack), the 'official rv' plate (installed by the state of oregon) is pretty cool. Mine, having the small poptop is cool, but everything else in them is crap.

ASI did a hack job, bunch of wood screws holding it all in and badly. I'm converting my interior back to its 'transporter' state.
