I am thinking of buying a 97 passat with a 4 cylinder, I believe 2.0. The owner says it just died and will not start. It turns over fine but won't fire. As I recall from my old Jetta that there are certain sensors that can cause this. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

If I were you, I would start at the beginning. Do you have fuel in the cylinder? Fire?
Ignition switches are bad about going out and acting as described, but I would check to see what is not working first. BTW, does it take some effort to turn the key? |
