I just bought my first watercooled VW. Decided I needed real heat instead of that '71 beetle heat. So I decided on a Cabriolet. I love it. I just got the title and everything switched over, and I've drove it the last two days.

When I test drove it, the blinkers and all worked. Now today, they aren't.

I have no clue about these cars, the Hazard Lights blink, and when I hit my turn signal, the button stays lit on the dash where it has the <=>. But my lights do not flash. I'm guess its the flash relay, where is it hiding at so I can check it out?

Thanks guys.

Hey welcome to the wonderful world of h2o, and an extra welcome from a fellow cabby owner. The flasher relay is located in the fuse panel under the driver side dash panel. I don't recall the exact number off hand but I believe it should be easy to identify, look for the long rectangular black one. Also if you turn on your switch then you might hear it/feel it hum. If I recall correctly, the turn-signal wiring is also ran through the hazard switch, on mine the po hacked the wiring up so every once in a while the wire to the hazard will come apart leaving me with hazards but no turn-signals, this may be your problem as well. Get a Bentley manual, their great books, and check out www.vwvortex.com, plus jet on over to www.cabbyinfo.com for more info on your new car.

Aha. I have figured it out, and it works beautifully. I just need to replace my Backup Light Switch and I'll be good for inspection.

Thanks for the link to Cabbyinfo, it has helped alot and alot of neato info. You by happen registered on The152.com?
