I can't seem to make it work for me. For example, if I wanted to look in the Ghia Forum for discussion of "Freeway Flier" Transmissions - how do you word the search? another example: What is a Samba (hey, I thought I ought to know!) doesn't yield anything? Is there a tutorial?

freeway and flier
select search for all terms (this often helps a lot!)
use the drop down to select the ghia forum
For vw terms you're unfamiliar with check out the handy dictionary in the Technical section:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/dic/
If it's not in there, you can always post in one of the forums and you'll likely get an answer.
Samba - european nickname for a 23 window deluxe bus.
