Hi Everyone,

I am new on this list. I have been on VWPerformance Mags list which had helped me a lot. I have a 1986(85 Vin) Golf GTI 1.8l 16V. It needed work and many things were missing under the hood.

I still cannot figure out the vacum lines that come from the rubber hood intake on the top of the airbox. I know one goes to the canister but there is one more and I think it goes to an extra boost vale for the A/C. is this correct. Also there is one extension on the back of the air box that looks like a hose should go to it.

Anyway, if anybody knows I would appreciate the help. I have not found an old golf yet to look at so I am working blind here. :) My Bentley manual only shows so much.

I think many things were missing because that car had the 16v swapped into it; the US-market GTI's didn't get the 16v until the '87 model year.

You might be better off hunting down a whole 16v parts car, maybe one that was hit in the rear, and pirate whatever you need.
