View original topic: Seller's that never come back to the site.

I was looking in the classifieds section (Parts - Type 1/Bug - 1968 - Up) for parts that were listed awhile back (page 48 for an example) and noticed that the seller/seller's have not been back to the site in awhile, or have never been back since first posting.

The question I have is, "Could I send an e-mail to the (any) seller inquiring about their particular part for sale", even though they haven't been back in a long time?. Or would that not be a good idea and/or a waste of time?.

Another question about that (or my complaint/concern) is, "Why do people post up something in the first place, and never do come back"?. It seem's like a waste of time to even bother to do so (IMO). Are some of them from another site or something?.

BTW - The site is great, and their missing-out on such a good thing!!. Whats a matter with-"em"? (for exception of those who are sick er something). Oh well, their loss and too bad i reckon!!!..... In my OP!.

Two more questions....

Is this the right forum to ask? Didn't know where it should go.

And should i've asked this in the first place (as in stupid question to ask, go ahead and contact anyway)???

The only stupid questions are those not asked, and you have nothing to lose but the time it takes to write the email, so go ahead. You'll know which forum was thought to be correct if the topic gets moved (or not).

Well thank's anyway jeremy. I've decided that if there's something that i want to find out bad enough, will just give them a shot through the e-mail and ask if they still have it. It's just that im somewhat "cautious" about emailing someone who has been AWOL from the site about their part's.

Not to mention my "communication" skill's can sometime's be only compared to that of a "chainsaw" and didn't want to just belch-out to them; "Hey, you still got that thing-ma-jig fer sale?"

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by AWOL, but the classifieds and the forums are two different things. You could visit the classifieds every day and as long as you never post in the forums it would show you never come to the Samba.

There are very active sellers who probably don't even know there are froums around here.

Oh, sorry coad. I was only meaning about the seller's who place ads, but never have came back to re-new or remove it (example - Like they placed an ad in mid november, but looked like they dissappeared around december or january. And have not posted anything in forum since then, making it look like they quit or something). But i see what you are getting at and did not know that. Thank's.

A lot of people don't know they can renew their ad so they place an ad and don't every return to edit the ad or renew it. And like it says above, if they don't do anything else, it may look like they disappeared. The car or part may still be for sale.

On the other side, other people sell things immediately and never delete their ad so it just sits there for weeks looking like it's for sale when it's long gone. Some of these people ignore any emails once it's sold too, which can be even more frustrating.
