Gotta lov the dub, or do I?
thanks to all those out there that gave me some advice with my 1985 Cabriolet-
Something all those should go out and look at right now...
Though I'm sure my cabby endured alot more than most as in extream weather conditions you should check it out,
The car on days wouldn't run others it would, and most when started up it sputtered down the road, not knowing what it could be. Well I recentally figured it all out, my bro-and machanic for most things, kept anguerly saying I was putting bad fuel in it I was sure I wasn't.
Well looky here:
vw put the right-rear tire just under the steel-filler tube, so after years of driving, water, snow, dirt, rock, and mud built up, ate away at the metal. not on bottom mind you but on the top where "the sun dont shine", this is the problem and the source for the bad fuel.
check yours out, might save some money, and time.
Best to you and yours

Lucky, the aircooled models are easier to find parts for now a days, when I tried to get one, out of stock and ancient history...but nothing I couldn't make... but yea seems like alot of things are obsolete nowadays hard trying to kepp er' on the road...
take it easy
best you all you and your cars
