With adjustable lowering struts, how low can you lower a super beetle?

Low. With most struts you can lower between 1 - 4 1/2" I lowered mine the full 4 1/2" and I lowered the rear. It looks awesome! Do it. But, hey, its your car do what you like. If you do lower it, do it right--replace the ball joints, control arm bushings, and any other front suspension parts that need work. It looks so much better because the Supers always sat kind of high in front. Enjoy.

thanks guys! I want my super to be REALLY low, so I am thinking about air ride? Does anyone know how well this works?

I have a few friends who have air, not on beetles though.. They all say to get the cylinders, and avoid bags. supposedly the bags are a much less forgiving ride, as well as more maintainence. good luck

Burned your springs? What is burning your springs?

He heated them up with a torch and they were compressed. In order to get a Super really low then use Topline's "Super Low" kit that will do a 5" drop with the struts and if you want to go even lower use those along with lowering (shorter) springs.
