914s had vapor lock problems & the cure was to move the filter to the front, near the tank. Or in the area where the steering box is. Remove the cover plate

Stock its right by the fuel pump under the passenger side engine shelf. You must climb under the car to find it.
Standard VW plastic fuel filter and don't put in a glass one in a Fuel injected engine. |
