i just ordered some from wolfsburg west. they were about $40 each, came with housing, lens, and all seals (i did not have to buy the housing to body seals or the lens seals). they are genuine VW/audi (with logos on the lenses and housings), probably from mexico. they are not hella (as listed on their website) but are arfeb(?) brand.
there are a couple minor differences from original german units, but only in the bulb holder for the running/brake light bulb. both terminals are on the same side of the bulb holder, and the are both 1/4" posts, as opposed to one 1/4" and one 1/8" on originals. the way the metal is stamped too, the earlier bulb holder can not be installed on the new unit. but that is a minor inconvenience, at least to me. it just requires a new terminal end be put on for the running light, not a big deal.
lenses are nice.
they did not come with the back caps (i have originals), but came with the rubber blanking plug for the opposite end of where the wires go in to the housing.
they sure look alot better on the bus than the disintegrating plastic, corroded metal, cracked lens junk that was on there before. |

where did you get this new terminal end to make it split into two 1/8 inch terminals. I purchased the busdepot housings and am stupped how to wire in my side markers as they connect at this junction to tail light . Any help is appreciated. |
