View original topic: Source For Brake Pedal Swing Lever Snap Ring?
Riff Raff Tue Mar 27, 2007 5:49 am

I was changing out the brake pedal return spring on the Mango last night and inadvertantly broke the snap ring that secures the brake pedal swing lever to the chassis.
I checked WW and CIP, but no one appears to list this snap ring. Any idea where I can source one (or two) from?
Old school hardware stores and FLAPS have become extinct up here!
Thanks

I lost one of my RGB axle top snaprings once and hit up a transmission shop. Two I went to had huge tins of used snaprings. I found a few and used the one that fit best. Someone popped up and told me the correct size so that narrowed it down. I don't know your size. Maybe hazetguy?

it's a 16 x 1 snap ring.
it is also the same snap ring that is used on a throw out bearing cross shaft (post splitcase trans), so if you have a spare bushing kit for that, or a transmission laying around, use the one from that application.

I don't think this gets said often enough.

Thank You!

I'm glad this info is still here, but I'm also wondering if the bushing in the pedal linkage is also available. I thought my spring was sprung but it's just stuck. I was able to remove it from the shaft but I'd like to replace that bushing instead of just cleaning it up and greasing it before reinstalling a new return spring with the linkage. Anyone know if those bushings are available?

He no longer sells just the bushings, so you would have to swap out all your pedal items for his restored set.
