hi, i was hoping someone could help me.. i want to lower my SB 3 inches or so, but i have no clue even where to start. i would like to use a set-up that's comfortable to drive on the street, but BETTER on the 1/4 :P i have a limited budget, so that's an issue :( if someone could give me the step-by-step it would be greatly appreciated :)
oh yeah, i've stripped stripped about 50 or so lbs. from the car, and i'm looking to make somewhere in the area of 150 hp, if that makes a difference... |

How to lower your super properly:
Step 1: go to www.toplineparts.com and talk to them.
Seriously, Topline is the best with Super suspension parts. They're the only people I trust with my car's suspension. The cheapest route is to buy lowering springs only, followed by adjustable struts (2nd most expensive) and MaXX struts (most expensive). Give them a call and see what they can do for you.
As far as wide/low profile/HiPo tires, you'll need better/wider wheels first. Any major VW vendor will have the standard selection of 4x130 wheels, so pick up a copy of VW Trends or HotVW's and see what's in there. Once you go into custom wheels with non-VW patterns, you start adding the $, so if you're on a tight budget, stick with riviera's or empi wheels.
Oh, and check out www.superbeetlesonly.com for good measure :) |
