Drove my buggy the first time today since I got the front suspension back together. I noticed that the CVs make a ticking sound. Previous owner said he had that from day one of putting them in. He said he called suppliers and they stated that was the norm, and that he never had any problems with them. I just hate the noise coming from there while driving. Anyone experience the same noise? Any input?

What angle are you running them at? I have friends who have ran used ones that were un-prepped to start with at 23 degree plus with no noise and others with new ones running them a 19 degree that made noise. Having the 930's race prepped ended the noise for my friends. I am wondering if after a little break-in time, will the noise go away? I am in the process of putting new ones on my baja and will have them set to stop at around 23 degrees. Hoping to be lucky and have no noise.

They appear to be at 19 degrees on the horizontal but the trans is offset to the CVs on the 4 X 5 arms. Does this matter?

with arms that large, yes. you're likely running at or close to the maximum angle |

What would be the actual source of that clicking sound? Funny thing is the previous owner has been running it this way for years. He had this buggy street legal and seems like he used it for a while as such.
