after taking off the retaining clip.. do you just hit the heck out of it with a hammer or something? it wont budge!
so after hitting it enough times, the balls popped out and all thats left is the inside peice.
i have a new cv thats going in so it doesnt matter..
but is there a trick?
it wont budge! |

it should slide right off, but I guess keep hammering if its froze.
when you go over bumps the axle is supposed to slide back in forth in the cv, looks like yours wasn't. |

| Try using a drift punch or old screw driver and start tapping it off as you rotate it (good tap one or two times, then rotate to another position an inch or two away, repeat...). Keep doing that and it will begin to move a little at a time, then it should fall right off. That is the way the Haynes manual says to do it. |

| you can try soaking it in some cleaner, like brake cleaner or carb cleaner. it might desolve some of the crud that is holing it on. and i would be careful hammering on it, you dont want to ruin the splines on your axles. |

| could also heat it, then hammer away. |

| I got an old open end wrench that slid over the axle, then I beat it with a large hammer. I also sprayed the heck out of it with break free. |
