For some reason i'm diggin the idea of some detailed 16" fuchs on my '66 bug. Anyone got any pics of some mounted?

These hard to mount because of the width 6" fronts (my beam is 5" narrow) and 7" rears?

they'll fit but you will need to run a low profile tire.

thehecticskeptic Fri Apr 06, 2007 5:46 am

i figured that i'd run 45's in the front and 50's out back. Nobody got pics? I know it's a little sacriligious, but i think the extra rim/less sidewall on a hammered bug would look tits, classic without the germanlook thing.

Anthony`s vert with 4 inch beam.

dontel`s vert with 3.5 inch beam.

Both of those look sick, ideas on the tire sizing?

Thorton, i had that bottom picture of your car on my computer because it was the only one i could find with the 16's, slick car, i think the 16's look damn good on a bug.

205-40-16's up front 2" beam with 16x6's

16x8's with 205-55-16's in the rear short axle trans all steel fenders.

anybody have an idea where to find a skinny low profile 16" tire to fit a 4.5" rim?

I heard a rumor that there is a spare tire used on chevy trucks that may work :?

Toyo or Yokohama makes a 185/50/16 that should fit on a 5.5" rim.
Not sure about a 4.5" rim. Thats unheard of in 16".... :?:

16x4.5" probably a spacesaver spare rim of one sort or another-or maybe old, old VW or Porsche stuff, or maybe old wire wheels, etc.?

thanks Thornton for all of the 16" info. Honda odoseys use a 110x16 spare as well. I ahave also discovered that a Lotus Elise comes with a 175/55/16 front tire. that may be perfect

edit*** just to clarify, I have the 4.5x16 rims (wide 5 of course) just researching tire options***
