I am building this buggy over in the Off Road Forum, thought you buggy guys would like to see my PRP Bench install...
Before - back ledge was way too high...
Cut out an area big enough to allow the seat drop down 8"...
Fabbed up a pan out of 14 ga...
After...
Perfect |

| is this on a long pan or short ? I like the idea of the pan , but why not out of fiberglass ? |

You probably could have just flipped the fiberglass piece over and glassed it back in along with making some sides.
The steel insert should work just fine.

| It's on a long body. You're both right, but I can weld a lot better than I can fiberglass. |
