Hello I'm new to this place. But I have a 1974 Volkswagen super beetle California custom that I want to get working and rebuild. So any help would be great. I've worked on volkswagens for most of my life but I can always use the help hints and other pointers. I appreciate all the help. I cannot seem to get the bonnet open even when I unlock it and push in on the button it still stays stuck I know of a way to open it but it's a real pain and I's appreciate any help on how to open it. Thanks. and I'll probably be asking for more help in the future.

| ok if the cable is pulled to release the hood and the handle is still stck, then the hood latch was tightened too much. check to see if the hood is slightly off center if it isn't then look at the bottom and with a flathead screwdriver, try to manuever the hood lock and it should pop open. it is best to have a helper available :) |

| if that fails cut the handle off with a hack saw or other suitable device. |

| lol..or take the jocky box out...'sorry is that a comman word..lol' anyway. THen using some good strong vice grips pull your..'hmm wait..'thinks of supers' yeah..' pull the cable real hard...mine did this on my 73 and it was a pain to get loose. if all else fails...cut the handle off and email me. i'll send ya a new one. |
