| I was wondering where is the best place to put the jack stands under a Super Beetle? I want all the wheels off the ground. I've done it a couple of times, but this is going to be for a much longer period of time and I just want to make sure I get it right so I don't end up hurting anything. Thanks. |

| In the rear I put the stands under the ends of the torsion bars (the round tube just ahead of the rear wheel. In the front, I've put the stands on the sway bar where it is clamped to the front of the pan. But I'm not so sure that's the best place. Someone on thesamba said that for the front you should put the stands on the "wings" that come out from the pan just behind the front wheels. Problem with that is that the bases of the stands then are kind of in the way if you need to work on the wheels or the MC or fuel pump (if FI). Just be real careful if you have one end jacked up and you start to lift the other end. Keep an eye on the stands because they may start to tilt as you lift the other end of the car and if you keep on lifting it the car may fall off as the stands tilt over. |
