| I decided to replace control arm and stabilizer bushings. Not a hard job in itself but....well....I need help in at least getting the wheel alignment close enough to true that I can Drive it to the shop without leaving skid marks all the way there! Are the lobes on the bolts to the part of the control arm closest to the body the only way to align? Should the Stabilizer bar Brackets to the body be loosened first? Was there some particular order to reassemble? Thanks for any help! |

You need to mess with the eccentric bolts holding the control arms to the frame head... get someone to stand in front of the car about 20 feet away and "spot" when they look like they are "towed in" slightly. then jlet the car back down and drive it forward and backward a bit to settle the front end and see what it looks like.
If you did not replace any tie rod ends or other then you should be able to get it close enough for the trip to the alignment shop after a few attempts.
I hope it is no more than a few miles... the super front end is prone to violent shaking (not to be confused with shimmies) when the front end alignment is off. good luck, be careful, take the 30mph side street route if you can. |
