Well I just thought I'd chim in with my dealings with Mike.
He had a 67 Treasure Chest Door on Ebay which did not sell. When I saw it I remember seeing it also here on The Samba.
And sure enough some of the pictures were the same and his name was on the email so I knew I was dealing with the same Mike.
So I emailed him to see if he could give me a good price.
Which he did.
Then I came back to the Samba to search for feedback and low and behold saw this thread.
So I said to myself this might be another guy who I get a bum deal with from The Samba as so far 90% of my dealings have had one problem or another but mostly misrepresented parts (condition wise).
I thought about it long and hard and since I was paying with Paypal for the very first time (and I've used Paypal 100's of times) I bought their insurance which was around $10 for this transaction.
I figured at least that way if I don't get the part or its misrepresented then at least I'd have some recourse to get my money back.
Well today I got the treasure chest door and my feelings are such.
The packaging was the best from any seller I've ever bought from.
First he wrapped it in cardboard and then surrounded it in bubble wrap and them found a nice big box and filled it with those styrofoam pieces.
This thing could have been dropped from my roof and I feel it still would have come thru unscathed.
I only wish most sellers would take the time to package up (in this case a hard to find item) with such care.
The condition was exactly as stated.
He claimed rust free and in nice shape.
And that is what I got.
He also shipped it out right away and I got it fast via Fedex ground.
So believe it or not but dealing with Mike has been the best deal I have had so far on The Samba.
Althought I've only had about 12 or so dealings I've had some high dollar ones ($750) where I have gotten garbage for my money.
Now I'm not discounting what everybody else says.
But I feel having this Classifieds/Vendors forum is much like Ebay's feedback.
So that sellers can see that some people are dissatisfied with the way they do business.
With that in mind hopefully the seller can take it to heart and change their ways (if everything above is in fact true) and hopefully make sure their future transactions are more honest and trustworthy.
Hopefully that might be the case with Mike.
But as far as I am concered he did more than great by me and I felt I owed it to him to let everybody know.
Thanks

Hm, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I was that harsh in what I said. And thanks for the personal email, "person I bought taillights from". I have received the taillights finally, but what I said about communication remains. Not responding to emails that are under $100 is hardly a way to do business. Can't write everyone back? How am I supposed to find out about my order? You didn't even tell me when it shipped. Thanks for the taillights, and you worked with me on price. But please consider improving your communication with your customers regardless of the amount of money you get from them.
I have nothing personal against you as a seller, but I would have at least liked confirmation that you received my order and payment. Didn't hear a word until a week later after sending several emails. |

If that was an eBay deal, does Michael use eBay checkout? It takes about 2 sec to notify the buyer when:
Payment is received
Item is sent
Feedback left
If the seller does use eBay checkout, and you the buyer don't know about it, it is not the seller's fault that you are ignorant.
Since I started using it, my e-mailing has dropped significantly. |

It was off the Samba classifieds. the post said just to paypal him the money and name the item and he'd ship it. I tried contacting him first, then just paypalled him. He finally responded about a week later after a few more emails.
However, the product was as advertised, and he did ship promptly as he noted above. Just never communicated it to me. |

By the time I had posted a message I already HAD sent you direct questions via email, asking if you received my money and asking if it'd shipped. I really didn't have a problem with you and I personally think my original post was not slander in any way. However, I think you're making the whole thing worse because after this I will likely not purchase from you again. How was I supposed to know I had to call you to find out if you'd received my money and that you wouldn't respond to email because my order was less than $100? Seems like common courtesy to say "I've received your money and your order will be shipped tomorrow", regardless of order value. It doesn't matter how fast you ship if the buyer doesn't even know you shipped it. |

Nope, no problem with the shipping...it's just frustrating to send money to someone with no contact and then not know what's going on. Thanks for sending the taillights so quickly...they're exactly what I need. |

Got my tail light lenses in 3 working days, an email telling me they were coming, and nice shiny new parts. Price included shipping. I am very pleased.
Just thought I would put a positive feedback to go with all of the others. |

| :( This guy posted yesterday on the Samba the Westy repop bus racks for $200 shipped and delivered price. Today the same ad is back but it is $240 plus $40 shipping. What gives with this guy? I thought no way can he sell them for $200 including shipping if they were legit. Now the same ad is back at $80 more. |

Well first I have 10 racks and they all sold fast.. I went back to buy more and someone from the SAMBA community complained to the distributor and they would sell me anymore for a lower price..Oh buy the way the Wholesale price for all shops it 191.01 and yes I bought 10 at a lower rate than that so I was able to give the SAMBA bus people a deal... I pay WD and only making a few bucks on each.... If you like ISP West sells them for $279.99 online plus shipping .. I have them on EBAY too for 251.00 plus shipping and i`m the bad guy for giving everyony a break,Michael
