Yeah my arm span is 6'7" and I am 6'2" tall. Most people have an arm span the same length as their height or below. My arms get in the way a lot as a result.

Yeah he's a papillon. The word is french for butterfly. They have have very large ears with fringe that hangs down, which when view from the front, resembles the shape of a butterfly's wings. They are the #8 smartest dog on the official list and it really shows. He is so well-behaved and easy to train.

As always, Chesty is there watching for squirrels and rabbits. He may be getting older (12 years old), but he still loves to hang out while I'm working and be on "Perimeter Watch"....

The Bus: a Sanctuary for Dogs

Let me introduce the players:
• BEN: He's the German Pointer, from someplace around the neighborhood.
• Angus: That's the little terrier. He belongs to my mom and dad.
• Kaia: That's the red lab. That's our dog (Yes, that's a real breed: http://www.foxredlabpups.com/).

Yesterday (July 4):
So we went to my mom and dad's house yesterday for the 4th. When people started lighting off fireworks in the neighborhood, Ben came scampering into the yard, shaking, panting hard and tail tucked. He was obviously distressed.

He found his way into my bus. The door was open and he invited himself into the far back and curled up. Pretty soon Angus him, and eventually Kaia did too. Kaia wasn't nervous, just being social. She eventually re-joined the humans. For the other two dogs, I put down a blanket, closed the curtains and they seemed to feel a little more secure back there.

A few weeks ago:
Kaia came home from the vet with an fresh open wound, really stressed out, panting and drooling. The first thing she did when we got home (in the Subaru) was circle the bus desperatley until I opened the door and she hopped in there and laid down. I guess it's some kind of safe zone for doggies! They really love the bus!

Thats how my dog is too! i turned the country music on, and shut all the doors and the top, and she laid down and went to sleep instead of shaking like a maraca!
