So this is a school project I take it, it looks like a lot of fun!

Mykl Sun May 13, 2007 7:08 pm

Yes Sir!

With a whole lot of help from Tucson DHP, Chirco, Vantana Tire, Chapman VW, and a bunch of other businesses here in Tucson.

That's the way to do it!
(my old '69)

Cool project!
But the quesion is: Who gets to drive it?

Mykl Mon May 14, 2007 3:27 pm

Nice pic of your clamps!

All the students who worked on the car that have a valid drivers licence will get to drive it and be in the video.

Car will be sold in June to help fund the next year's project.

You let them off easy without the window trim  Comming along very nice you guys should be proud.

How long did it take to get to this point?

Mykl Thu May 17, 2007 5:57 am

Ya. We wanted the stock trim too. Got real nice Cal rubber for free and had no money for Stock so......

Started in Sept. Almost there..... :D

Mykl Sun Jun 03, 2007 8:08 pm

First time out - no it's not done, but close.

Enjoy the video by Lemorris http://dhpvw.com/blog/?p=74

Sorry, we have been to busy working on the car to update for a while. :D

Hopefully we can keep up now.

TimGud Sun Jun 03, 2007 9:24 pm

Those kids did nice work! Did you also paint a decklid?

Mykl Sun Jun 03, 2007 10:27 pm

Yup :D Will be installed this week with standoffs, also the rear bump, door panels, air cleaners, and the rest of the exterior trim.

This little car scoots, a very strong 1776. 8)

The students want to raise the rear up an inner spline too.

SoLeFooD™ Mon Jun 04, 2007 1:32 pm

NO! Dont raise it up! Just drop the front some more... :D

I loved the car saturday but cant wait for it to be fully completed.
Great work from all of them and the help you guys recieved...

And that Martika...
(Im going to hell...Or Prison. Whats the difference?)

Mykl Mon Jun 04, 2007 11:27 pm

The front is down all the way! :(

The back has settled too much - an inner up will make it look level, or a sight rake forward, instead of the tail down "stock old Superbeetle" look. :)

Mykl Tue Jun 26, 2007 4:21 am

Just about done. :D Need to finish the rear overrider support tubes. Students did some laps in the parking lot which was great fun for them.

Time to start showing this car around town this week :D

Thanks for all the help from all over the Tucson :!:  8)
