Your average 27mm or 32mm open ended wrench won't fit on the inner nut with the wheel bearing lock plate in there. It's too thick...thus the need for a thin wrench. You need to hold the inner nut steady while tightening the outer nut or it'll move and mess up the bearing play. I'm not sure how a regular open ended wrench will work for this.
The hack-a-licious way to do it is to hold the inner nut with needle nose pliers. |

i had this problem too. so i made these to make it easy. i had an add up for them last year sold a couple and let it run out. this thread reminded me to put it back up . |

Or get rid of the nuts and use these, available for both early and late bus spindles now
