nope. we went in unjudged so we could park in the VW section. :cry:
they make dune buggys park over with the street rods and all that over in the modifieds to compete :?:
been on them for that for a couple years now. would like to have a vw modified period. or at least a people's choice. |

90volts, I have numerous trophy's from my show car days, heres how I feel now.
Going to a show and getting a trophy=worthless... :wink:
Memories you have with the kids in the snow and running the buggy in the mud=priceless.... :lol: :D :lol: |

Well considering 3 out of the 11 aircooled rides had fiberglass tubs for a body,I think a "buggy" catagory would be in order.
Or at least inclusion with the other VW's.
Bet your ride got alot of attention.Its funny how people driving vehicles that cost 20 times more than a decent buggy, give em so much praise!
Im not a trophy hound myself.I love shows to chat with other car nuts.
But at the same time,ive never turned down a trophy :D
Cant wait to see your car in person.You still coming to the OBX July 7th? |

and of course you are right on the money viperbgy.
but just to show how serious some people get about their trophies...
they made an announcement while giving out trophies that it's not all about the trophies, don't get all pissed off cause you didn't get one, don't go off pissed off doing burnouts and badmouthing people apparenty they've had a couple of 'incidents' LOL. They tried to remind everyone that we were out there to have fun and that it's a hobby. |

The only time I ever got mad at a show over awards was at a local one I attended about 5 years ago.
I had a restored early 74' Datsun 260Z.
When it came time to pass out the trophies,guess what won?
A (new) 02' T Bird,a (new) 02' Vette,a (new) 02' Mach 1 Stang...etc
Now I wasnt expected to win (Japanese classics dont fare well in "general"
shows where the only catagories is pre/post Vietnam era),but there was alot of nicer iron someone invested alot of love in.
And they just give it to Joe Blow because he bought the new flavor of the month at the time.
