Installed my drivers side tray, decklid support and corner all from Gerson. Man what a job getting all of that lined up!

Also installed new threaded plates for my decklid hinges.

Man that company has gone downhill since Tom Hanks crashed on that island.
Anyway, the driver delivered it to the wrong address and Berg was nice enough to call me to tell me that it finally arrived. :D

I made a small battery hold down strap extension out of a parts oil bath I had laying around, so I can use the 6 volt battery strap with a 12 volt battery. It worked like I pictured it in my head.

Received Wolfsburg West delivery of new Headlight Assemblies to replace the rusted out ones.

Our cat always likes to perform Quality Control of any/all packages received.

...and what did that calico have to say about those assemblies- I've been wondering if they are better than alternative East Asian units?

Was it "meow", basic purring or what?

Basic purring... but then again, she won't be helping install them.
They appear to be very well made, and when buying the whole assembly, it's already got the seal in it behind the lens, etc.
It will be a week or two (or longer) before I can compare with the originals; we live three hours away from where our bus is stored (darn CA Bay Area apartment living! Never take your garage and/or driveway for granted; they are a luxury worth celebrating.).

UPS is just as bad. They did the same to a tilt that I sent off. They denied all responsibility and the buyer refused insurance so he was out $700 :shock: The moral of the story is insurance, pics and receipts.

Thanks for feedback- and I can relate to Bay area 3 hours to anywhere.

I did accomplish a little something- I prepped a 40HP muffler I picked up at Red Barn for my "fitsemall" 12v motor. Now I've got a complete interim motor for the deluxe. Soon: moving under it's own power.

Installed the shifter this morning before work. Forgot how much of a pain it is to install the shifter. shifts nice and smooth though...and easy to reach. Next time I ship to a business, I'll check with the business to see what . Berg shipper that they use. Berg uses UPS, so UPS knows Berg--no screw ups.

It's just starting to get hot here in AZ but today was cool so I installed my rebuilt transmission in my '61 Double Cab:

Note to people working on wood planks and rocks - make sure the wood is far enough forward so the jack doesn't slide off the front edge when you still have 3" more to get it all the way in there.

I had my days working like that, probably why it never got done. I found that using a slightly more aged piece of wood that was warped and had holes drilled in it more adventurous. Seemed perfectly normal to me at the time I think fighting off the ants was the funnest.

Finally got around to installing my Sigla rear hatch glass, did it myself no problem in a few minutes.

Couldn't motivate myself to do any dirty work so I played around with the faded logos that were uncovered when I stripped the bus.

Have no freaking clue what else comes after radio.. suggestions?..

Almost 100% sure it is "Kemble Brothers Furniture Co." out of Fort Worth but I cant read the rest of the faded logos..

Finished up the Battery Tray - not much to see, but it will hold a battery now :D
