I bought a Manx style bumper (http://www.mooreparts.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=...ange_high=) that's supposed to bolt to the front beam. However, the sway bar ('72 chassis) interferes with the mounting brackets  . Has anyone modified this type of bumper to fit a sway bar? Removed the sway bar? Thanks. |

I have been wondering how a buggy handles without a sway bar. I am narrowing my front beam and will not be able to use the sway bar.
How does your act EMPIImp69? |

Mine handles well without it, but mine is a bit lowered. It shouldn't make much of a difference whether it has a stock beam or lowered beam. FG buggies don't really need sway bars since they are light. There has been other talk about this on this forum, just search on 'sway bar'. Here is a good one: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=221241&highlight=sway |

THANKS EMPIImp69
The other thread was very helpful! I really liked the additional link to the Aircooled.net site.
I will now narrow and lower my buggy front and rear with a good feeling about how to make it handle. |
