awesome door panels did you make them or did someone else do the embossing, is that 1/8 or 1/4 foam on the emboss? Im fixing to do mine and I have 1/8 foam for the sculpting.

I did it by myself, but I did a few mistakes. I jused common footfall sound insulation (hope thats the right expression), could be 1/4, definitely more than 1/8 and there's no glue that will last forever on that material. And I didn't make a seam, so the embossing doesn't look that good anymore :(

But I will do it again and make it better :)

The flames in my door panels are sewn into the material. Did you do the entire interior? Do you have the build photo documented?

Yes of course, did it all by myself. I didn't documented every single step, but I got a lot of pictures...
Are you looking for a special picture. I can't send you all, too much of them :D

These door handles are from a BMW E30, built in the years '82-'90. My current car for the winter months  .

Wow! I'm thoroughly inspired by this topic! Now I really wanna cruise the junkyard for some nice door panels! I really like those ones from the bmw! When you pull the handle does it flex the whole panel though, or did you find a place to anchor it to the door?

Don't just anchor it to the panel!
I had to install two cross braces to anchor it to the door.

Nooo... :)
These are from a Renault 19, but just because my brother crashed it, so I got the power windows for free ;-)

I put a CD / MP3 player in the blove box and left a little area on the left for storage etc. I also made a speaker box at the rear where the hinge covers used to be...

Err mines not nearly as wild as the other members, nor as complete yet, but it works great for me:

Here is the start of mine. Got it hooked up just in time for the BBB in Havasu. I will be building my back seat around these. I will post more pics of the progress as it comes along.

Yeah, its so packed nothing can move in there!

After I posted I thought a good idea for a NEW thread(don't want to hijack this one) would be "post pics of your drawer" just to see what everyone has in their bus cabinet drawers. And for the transporters, they could post a pic of their glove box. :)

Anyone put speakers behind the front seats? I dont want to cut into the kick panels or the door panels. Just looking for ideas for regular round 51/4 speakers.

Evil Clown Tue Feb 03, 2009 12:09 pm

Hi-Fi Stereo sound :)
