Who can tell me if this high volume gas tank will fit in my bugeye front end?
It's currently got an 11 gallon fuel cell on the rear parcel shelf area and doesn't strike me as the safest solution. Plus I'd prefer more weight over the front end and a useable back seat. |

It'll fit under a stock hood, it should fit under a 'glass one. My bugeye nosecone is quite a ways forward of the stock tank location.
What I want to know is if that tank's construction is worth anything? It looks cool, but is it made of hammered out pepsi cans ? |

| If you have a "true" fuel cell there is no way a tank is safer! Yes, you could improve the safty by moving the cell to the front but you ruin the balance of the car. |

Hey thanks everyone. It looks like the high capacity tank could fit in a bugeye conversion.
I thought about relocating the cell to the front, but it wouldn't fit right. Might as well put it up for sale or something. It's a circle track 12 gallon cell with the send and breather fittings at the top. 17x17x11 dimensions. Also has a 12 bolt 45° filler neck.
Just a question. How can having the tank up front screw with the balance of the car? They come stock that way. My baja feels a little light up front anyway. It's got a cut and turned beam and there's no droop in front. I figured a little extra weight up front would balance the car out. Is that a good idea? |

| I'm inclined to agree with you Jeff. The weight over the front wheels should help balance the car and improve turning. |

Cool. I'm glad you think so.
My front end is so high right now the tie rod rubs the frame head a bit. I'd rather not notch it. |

Hello,
I have a 65 baja with a 15 gallon stock tank in the nose stock area. Before I instyalled this tank I had a 6 gallon alum tank up front the ride was VERY stiff. with the stock 15 gallon tank up front the ride quality has greatly improved..... I have a 6 over beam with 2 adjusters per tube and tweed design longer trailing arms and fox 2.0 non res shocks with 14 inchs of travel. I hope this helps ya
