I made some wide smoothies for my '64 beetle that are 8" wide :) A little extreme but they tuck under the fenders regardless. I may make a less wide set for my '54 to get a similar look. I can throw the 8's on the rear of my '54 this summer and snap a pic for this thread :) Here is one... you can't tell its not an oval ;)

Those flames look great! Never was a fan of flames until they started making them look realistic like that. Bravo!

nice phot chop charlie, but i still like the smoothies better. I did think the centerlines looked good.

ovalshark Tue Feb 28, 2012 7:25 am

What smoothies! That black deserves bling!

Charlie bug Tue Feb 28, 2012 10:55 am

its just a matter of taste, I like the fuchs but they have to be these original ones also to much hassle to start changing stud pattern, but if a set of ercos or centrelines come up for sale wide 5 then I would be very interested. Thats the great thing about wheels they only take about 10 mins to change and you can pic and choose like shoes. I still dig my smooths

I was lucky I only had to do a partial restore 3rd owner all matching no#'s OG interior, the head liner had to be replaced to to the sloppy mess of the body shop. the car came from Laguna bch owned by a librarian. no major wrecks only dented fenders.
