Now that I have my narrowed beam on order, I have focused my attention to the CB disk brake kit which I already have. I have heard two ways that I can go about this regarding a master cylinder. A bus master with a billet fitting to go to the stock reservoir (since a bus master has the reservoir on top of it) or a 67' and later master with a dual reservoir. Which way would be better considering that I plan on adding the So. Cal. Imports rear disk brake kit in the future? How does the brake pedal compare to each other with the different master's? Is one more spongy than the other? I have also been told that I need to cut out the bracket from a 67' and later bug, that holds the dual reservoir. Is this true or is there some other way to mount it? Maybe some of you here can give me some suggestion regarding this, cause I only want to do this once= "the right way!" Thanks....

| I have front and rear disc brakes on my Ghia Vert. It came from the factory with the dual circuit "master blaster cylinder." |

Go with the dual circuit Master Cylinder.
Once you get the rear disc you may, or may not,
need a larger dual circuit master cylinder.
But for now a stock Ghia or Super Beetle one will work fine.
Aviod the type 3 because holes drilled on wrong side for brake lines. |

Your thinkin about the So Cal Imports kit. The CB kit doesn't come with the m/c. |

The dual circuit master cylinder was originally designed for safety. Now this is the information that I read about them. If one of the circuits failed (brake pressure and brake lights) you have another circuit to rely on. If your 67 does not have the dual reservoir it should be replaced. You'll have to run another brake line to the master cylinder. That is what VW recommends. Like I said this is the information that I read in my repair manual from Volkswagen.
Good Luck

You can use any type 1 dual circuit master cylinder. It should be a direct replacement.
