I just installed a pair of CB Performance dropped spindles on my 67' beetle. I had a pair of
185/65/15 tires in the front. But of course those rubbed when I was driving. So I put on my stock wheels with a pair of 165/15s, thinking they would be fine, because they are much thinner, but apparently they are a little taller, and they rubbed even more then the 185/65/15. So I was wondering what a good size pair of tires were that I could put in the front (on 5.5in. wheels). Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated. |

| 145 would be the best are you going drop it some more and put some wheels on it if so you might want a narrowed beam and 135 or with a narrowed beams 195 50 15 |

195's are too big if you don't have a narrowed beam. I really like the 175/65/15's off the new mini. Better handling than 135 or 145's. The 175's would be about 1/2 inch smaller in diameter than the 185's.. they're cheap too $47 a piece from tirerack.com plus shipping etc. If the 185's would rub like crazy these won't make much of a difference

hello, i think 175/65/15 is best too!! my bug in Fr is 165/65 /15 then i bought this tire, not sell 175 /65 maybe more clearance than 175/65 but i
feel too small OD. maybe bit smaller than 135SR.
your problem is depend on what wheelis in your car. 911fuchs wheel maybe OK,
but most american eagle is more positive off set, that need nallowed or 135 tire. |

| The diameter of a 195X50 is approximately 24 inches. |

Pardon me. I meant approximately 22 inches in diameter for the 195X50X15 tire size.

The 145's are approximately 24 inches in diameter. Too Skinny!
The 165's about 26 inches, a little more meat.
The 195X50's 22 inches in diameter and MEATIER.
Go LOW-PRO!
