What is the correct methode of installing a 1776 T1 engine in a Porsche 911 type 901.
what kind of flywheel do I need to use, is there machining work involved, what about the startermotor, ...
Is it a straightforward job or not?
Is there a site, document, ... of someone where it is clearly explained?
Does someone has hands-on experience and maybe pictures to send?
Thanks,
Peter |

| Good info on Callook.com concernning the the conversion you are after. Putting an engine that is going to produce 75 hp on a good day and mating it to a trans geared for a 200 hp engine may not give you the drivability your looking for though. |

The info on Callook is good.
Do you think it will be a problem to mount a 75hp engine in the tranny? I'm just looking for a 5th gear and I did not think it would give a problem even though the box might be designed for 200hp.
What wopuld be the problem with drivability?
Thanks |

| I would think that a trans geared to go 120+ with a torquey 6cyl may be a dog with a puny 1776. Never done the conversion or pulled out the gear charts, but common sense would dictate you would lose some around town drivability. I believe the gearing is pretty tall. |
