This company used to make head castings maybe? I found a new pair, made in the US around '86- was curious if anyone had heard of them. Thanks in advance.

There is a photo in the Wilson vw motor rebuild book that shows Eepco heads. He uses them as an example of heads NOT to use. Sorry if that's not what you hoped to hear =^/

That's exactly what I wanted to know... What was it about them that was bad?

I don't have the book in front of me @ work, but I think it has to do with more porous metal used in the heads & most re-builders won't even accept them as cores.

I used to build vw heads for years at Bap Imports (in phoenix), and personally liked these heads. the only problems i had seen, was due to the crappy american aluminun available at the time, there were some perosities. also they didnt weld for crap, unless you actually heli-arced them (not just tig welding with argon). what i liked about them was the fact that they were thicker castings all around. anyway you know what they say about opinions.....if they are new castings, i wouldnt even think twice. i'd use them, but thats just me. good luck

That's some good advise. I have seen the occasional EEPCO head in my time and never have corrolateted a failure rate any higher than a VW head. If they are NEW then like the man sez use them, why the hell not, gotta be as good as mexi-trash nowdays???
