| Can you tell me a good garage to take my 1967 VW to. Recently purchased and probably needs the brakes looked at and i think it could be tuned up better since it backfires between gear shifts on occassion. |

if it is a stock vw, the best places are economy on Auburn blvd, or Der wagen shop in Orangevale.
you really should get a good manual, or at least the idiot book. The VW is pretty cheap to maintain, but only if you do the work yourself.
