Well it's pretty easy: cut, turn & weld the front beam & 1 click at the back. It was really not the greatest setup, no suspension travel. Boomerangs upside down could be an option I guess, but then you'd have to change to 930 CV's, and that's way too expensive in Yurop..
The tires are Black Star Guyanne, really cool looking I think and pretty efficient at off-roading but they make a lot of noise on the highway! size 235/75/15 on 4 mercedes 7x15 steel wheels that look just like vw wheels but in 15'...
So that's it, not much really... Now I miss that bus.. |

I love that table bracket for the jack stand. Where can I get one. Always envisioned something, but this is the first I've seen. |

pulled off the side of the road to top off the gas tank, pulled too far into the mud.
was stuck there for quite a awhile as I have a pretty tired 1700/2000 motor and my exhaust leaks are killer. was a proud moment to climb out of it all though. If I can fix the engine, I am takin it offroading for real in a month. |

This past July 4th after a party at a friend's house....at 3 in the morning....we decided to go rip around the field in the Bus. Slowed down to turn around, lost my momentum and that was it. Buried it up to the bumper. Ended up leaving it there overnight and returning the next day with a jack, some strong boards, and a scorching hangover. Got it out, drove it home, and she still sports the grass and weeds stuck in the mud on the backside of the rear bumper. Good times

Technically speaking, you are correct. However, 90% of the pictures in this thread are buses on, or parked beside, a road. I suppose I could post this type of picture in the "Buses in the Wilderness" thread, but since there are no wheeled vehicles allowed in wilderness areas, that would also technically be incorrect. If you feel strongly enough about my back road bus picture not being on this thread, let me know and I'll delete it for your pleasure. |
