| so i replaced my accelerator cable..and i go to start my car..(preveiously when i replaced my cable when it broke about a month ago....i had the same problem...but not nerely as sever...so i placed a second throttle release spring...and that solved the problem)....this time it revs the absolute higest imaginable...and so i go and press the throttle....and then it goes even higher....whats the problem? i can only imagine that its a problem with WAY TOO MUCH FUEL being let through......the air flap is closed so no air is getting through..sounds like a reasonable answer?? any help you can provide me is greatly appreciated..thanks a bunch!! |

| sounds like you have the cable hung up on something,or you just have it pulled to tight. could be wrong though. i'm not to familiar with the type 3 set up. |

| it still does this ever when i do not have the throttle release spring attached...thus meaning it has nothing to do with the accelerator cable?? right??...i didnt touch or mess with anything when i changed the cable?? i'm kinda confused on what made this whole thing happen all of a sudden??? |

Just unhook the cable in the back, and Let the slack out...You probably put it on too tight... If it's not that, then you've got a wicked Air intake leak...Check your Intake system, you can either start the car, and push down on them, and if they stop, then you know you got a leak. Otherwise, just look around and tight up the intakte manifold (Samething happened on my buddies Fuel Injected T-3...he had his manifold ends finger tight) Anyways, good luck, I bet it's just that your cable is too tight.

| ok i fixed it...the "butterfly" flap that lets the air in wasnt closing all the way..i sprayed soem cleaner on all the moving parts and now it runs like a champ! thanks for everyone that added their input! |
