Im have a dual port 1600cc in my 69 with everthing stock. Would I be better off with dual weber 34mm or would I be better off with dual 40mm Kadron? Im looking for reliability, power, and fuel economy and quality.

One of my cars runs dual 40s with an SVDA (Kadrons like SVDAs) distributor, ceramic coated exhaust single quiet pack, and before I tuned the carbs properly and added the SVDA I was getting 25 MPG highway thru the smokies running at 75-85MPH. That was about a 1300 mile trip and I drove for hours at a time without overheating or problems. Hell, my oil is still clear. I don't have mileage figures with the SVDA because I haven't gone thru a full tank in weeks. It's very reliable as long as you change out the linkage.

I had dual 34s on another motor, but it didn't seem like much of an improvement over the stock carb as far as power goes. The linkage wasn't much better than the stock linkage for the 40s.

One thing I did forget, if you want chokes, you can do the dual solex 34s. Not sure where you live, but this can make a big difference.

Also, I forgot to mention I'm running a Jacob's Bug-Pak ignition in the motor above. The car always starts before a full revolution of the motor and is supposed to help with mileage as well.
